In May 2026, Tokyo hosted one of the year’s most strategic gatherings in the field of cybersecurity. Organized by the Aspen Institute in collaboration with Japan’s National Cybersecurity Office (NCO), the Aspen Global Cybersecurity Group’s Spring convening brought together international decision-makers, security experts, and private sector leaders in a confidential, invitation-only setting.
It was within the contemporary elegance of the Tokyo EDITION, Toranomon hotel that Shonan Focus provided photographic coverage for this high-level event.
Documenting the Invisible
Photographing a summit dedicated to cybersecurity presents a unique challenge. Here, conversations are often sensitive, discussions are dense, and the stakes, though rarely visible, are crucial to the balance of the global digital landscape.

At the end of the working sessions, participants gathered for a reception on a terrace located on the 23rd floor of the hotel. Overlooking the city, this moment offered a striking contrast to the intensity of the earlier discussions.
In a more relaxed atmosphere, conversations continued against a unique panorama, with Tokyo Tower in the background, bathed in the soft light of dusk. For Shonan Focus, it was an opportunity to capture more spontaneous moments: smiles, informal exchanges, and silhouettes outlined against the skyline.
